Bon\u2026 En plein mois d\u2019octobre les vacances d\u2019\u00e9t\u00e9 sont un lointain souvenir et je suis de nouveau bien pris par mon travail. Il y a une r\u00e9union dans une heure et d\u2019ici l\u00e0 je dois r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 tou<\/span>s ces courriels\u2026 Je ressens comme une saturation\u2026 Et si je faisais une pause? Une pause de r\u00e9flexion sur tout ce qui est en jeu dans cette situation. Les courriels attendront. Je pourrais me poser la question suivante : est-ce que j\u2019ai un travail ou est-ce que je suis mon travail ? Bien s\u00fbr comme je suis un esprit libre et ind\u00e9pendant des d\u00e9terminismes sociaux, je vais r\u00e9pondre que j\u2019ai un travail et qu\u2019il ne me d\u00e9finit pas du tout ! Et pourtant\u2026 ma profession occupe une part importante de mon temps\u2026 durant lequel je dois bien \u00eatre qui je suis cens\u00e9<\/span> \u00eatre. Si je suis un gar\u00e7on de caf\u00e9 parisien, une r\u00e9ceptionniste d\u2019un h\u00f4tel ou l\u2019ambassadeur de Syldavie en Bordurie<\/span> je dois bien avoir le comportement attendu. Les autres attendent cela de moi il faut donc bien que je joue le jeu. Je dois me conformer \u00e0 ces attentes. Il me faut personnifier l\u2019empressement du gar\u00e7on de caf\u00e9, l\u2019amabilit\u00e9 de la r\u00e9ceptionniste et la sagacit\u00e9 courtoise de l\u2019ambassadeur. Cela devient vite une mani\u00e8re de se d\u00e9finir. J\u2019int\u00e9riorise ces attitudes. Lorsque je rencontre une personne inconnue je vais lui dire qui je suis suppos\u00e9 \u00eatre en disant ce que je fais : \u00ab\u00a0Que faites vous dans la vie ?\u00a0\u00bb \u00ab\u00a0Je suis \u00e9quarrisseur\u00a0\u00bb\u00a0ou bien \u00ab\u00a0Bonjour, je m\u2019appelle Marie-Sultane et je suis dans l\u2019import-export\u00a0\u00bb. On prolonge ainsi bien souvent cette identification au-del\u00e0 du temps de travail. Certains professeurs – par exemple – aiment transformer un simple petit-d\u00e9jeuner <\/span>en conf\u00e9rence sur leur sujet de pr\u00e9dilection. Le groupe des convives – transform\u00e9<\/span> en auditoire – apprendra ainsi beaucoup sur la g\u00e9opolitique (par exemple).<\/p>\n

En effet, toute activit\u00e9 orient\u00e9e vers cette id\u00e9e d\u2019un \u00ab\u00a0moi\u00a0\u00bb laisse des traces dans notre continuum psychique. C\u2019est ce que l\u2019on appelle le karma en sanskrit (tib. las)<\/span>. Ce terme – de mani\u00e8re significative – peut se traduire par \u00ab\u00a0travail\u00a0\u00bb. En croyant \u00eatre telle ou telle fonction sociale on reproduit sans cesse le m\u00eame sch\u00e9ma. M\u00eame si l\u2019on fait un \u00ab\u00a0bullshit-job\u00a0\u00bb<\/span> ou que l’on n’a pas d’emploi du tout, il y a une forme d\u2019identification malheureuse et frustr\u00e9e \u00e0 cette situation. Bref, qu\u2019on le souhaite ou non, on finit souvent par croire \u00eatre ce qu’on fait, m\u00eame quand on n\u2019y croit pas vraiment ou quoi ne veut pas y croire. C\u2019est ainsi qu\u2019on d\u00e9termine ce qu\u2019est le moi ou le soi par le travail. Mais au fond\u2026 sommes-nous vraiment notre profession ? Est-ce que nous sommes illustratrice, ing\u00e9nieur ou fermi\u00e8re en vacances? Lors du sommeil profond ? En toutes circonstances ? Sommes-nous cela depuis toujours et pour toujours ? Avant de na\u00eetre et apr\u00e8s \u00eatre mort ? Ce r\u00f4le – m\u00eame si l\u2019on y est tr\u00e8s attach\u00e9 – n\u2019est qu\u2019un r\u00f4le transitoire. Il n\u2019offre pas l\u2019identit\u00e9 stable et s\u00fbre que nous recherchons. Il n\u2019est pas le \u00ab\u00a0moi\u00a0\u00bb solide auquel nous souhaitons nous identifier. Cette d\u00e9termination du \u00ab\u00a0moi\u00a0\u00bb par le travail est illusoire. D’ailleurs, le \u201c moi \u201c est une cr\u00e9ation mentale en constante red\u00e9finition, toujours incertaine et \u00e9ph\u00e9m\u00e8re.<\/p>\n

Constater cela ne fait pourtant pas dispara\u00eetre l\u2019action, le travail et l\u2019activit\u00e9. Nous sommes sans cesse en mouvement. Ce mouvement est l\u2019expression m\u00eame de la nature vide et lumineuse de la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 pour le Dzogch\u00e8n. Si nous n\u2019y projetons pas la fiction d\u2019un moi qui fait ceci et cela pour \u00eatre ceci et cela, alors il devint possible de reconna\u00eetre cette nature dans nos activit\u00e9s professionnelles. R\u00e9parer un \u00e9vier ou monter un projet de convention financi\u00e8re, c\u2019est trouver l’expression de la nature \u00e9veill\u00e9e sous forme de tuyaux ou de feuilles de calcul. Cette proposition peut sembler paradoxale. Pourtant elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 incarn\u00e9e par des g\u00e9n\u00e9rations de pratiquants et pratiquantes de cette tradition. Simples paysans ou graveurs de mani,<\/span> ils pratiquaient l\u2019art subtil et profond de reconna\u00eetre chaque mouvement en et hors de soi, chaque geste et chaque parole, comme l\u2019expression la plus directe de l\u2019\u00e9vidence primordiale (tib. rigpa<\/span>). Comment r\u00e9aliser ceci ? Par un retournement radical : passer de l\u2019obsession du \u00ab\u00a0moi\u00a0\u00bb comme boussole \u00e0 une existence orient\u00e9e vers l\u2019\u00e9veil parfait pour le bien d\u2019autrui. Il s\u2019agit aussi de quitter la distraction comme mode de vie pour d\u00e9velopper l\u2019attention vigilante vers les mouvements et la nature de l\u2019esprit. Bref, ce qui est offert ici est de transformer le rapport ordinaire au travail en activit\u00e9 \u00e9veill\u00e9e<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n
