Le Tert\u00f6n<\/h2>\n

Parmi les \u00eatres d\u2019\u00e9veil qui oeuvrent au bien des \u00eatres vivants se trouvent une cat\u00e9gorie toute particuli\u00e8re : les tert\u00f6n<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Ces tert\u00f6n sont des \u201cd\u00e9couvreurs de tr\u00e9sors\u201d. Les tr\u00e9sors sont les enseignements cach\u00e9s, les termas<\/a>, la plupart par Guru Rinpoch\u00e9 et Yeshe Tsogyal.<\/p>\n

Leurs d\u00e9couvreurs sont, la plupart du temps, des \u00e9manations de l\u2019un des vingt-cinq disciples principaux [1]<\/strong><\/a> de ce ma\u00eetre du 8\u00e8me si\u00e8cle, ou directement une \u00e9manation de ce dernier (et parfois une confluence).<\/p>\n

Un tert\u00f6n ne choisit donc pas d\u2019\u00eatre tert\u00f6n. Tout va d\u00e9pendre s\u2019il red\u00e9couvre, ou non, le ou les tr\u00e9sors dont Padmasambhava lui a confi\u00e9 la charge. Et c\u2019est l\u00e0 que \u00e7a se corse. Car, comme l\u2019explique Mila Khyentse Rinpoch\u00e9<\/a>, il y a beaucoup d\u2019\u00e9checs dans la red\u00e9couverte des termas.<\/p>\n

Lorsque Guru Rinpoch\u00e9 a confi\u00e9 les mandats spirituels \u00e0 ses disciples pour qu\u2019ils red\u00e9couvrent dans leurs vies futures les termas, il a accompagn\u00e9 le mandat d\u2019une proph\u00e9tie, qui d\u00e9crit les conditions de la red\u00e9couverte pour chaque terma.<\/p>\n

Ces conditions se retrouvent g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement dans le guide proph\u00e9tique que re\u00e7oit le ou la future tert\u00f6n. Ces proph\u00e9ties indiquent comment, o\u00f9 et quand les tr\u00e9sors dont le tert\u00f6n a la charge doivent \u00eatre red\u00e9couverts, la personne qui doit apporter son soutien (une ou un consort, qui n\u2019est pas forc\u00e9ment physique, et dont seul un t\u00e9moin comme une m\u00e8che de cheveux ou un objet suffit), le d\u00e9tenteur qui va diffuser le terma, les principaux disciples, et encore d\u2019autres points qui varient selon les tr\u00e9sors. (Un article d\u00e9taill\u00e9 vous attend \u00e0 ce sujet.)<\/p>\n

La d\u00e9couverte des termas de la terre (tib. sa gter<\/em>) suit un protocole d\u00e9fini par ce guide proph\u00e9tique : le tert\u00f6n doit r\u00e9aliser un certain nombre de pratiques pr\u00e9paratoires qui lui permettent de pr\u00e9parer son esprit et de v\u00e9rifier que le moment est bien venu pour la red\u00e9couverte.<\/p>\n

Ensuite, voici comme cela se passe en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral : le tert\u00f6n va \u00e0 l\u2019emplacement o\u00f9 le tr\u00e9sor a \u00e9t\u00e9 cach\u00e9 (un lac, un rocher, un pilier de temple, etc.), et accomplit une c\u00e9r\u00e9monie particuli\u00e8re avant de retirer le terma, par exemple en plongeant sa main dans un rocher, ou comme le fit P\u00e9ma Lingpa au M\u00e9bartso au Bhoutan, en s\u2019enfon\u00e7ant dans un lac muni d\u2019une lampe \u00e0 beurre allum\u00e9e, et en ressortissant avec un petit coffret contenant le cycle du Dzogch\u00e8n Longs\u00e8l, et la lampe \u00e0 beurre toujours allum\u00e9e !<\/p>\n

Dans ce cas, lorsque le terma est retir\u00e9, le tert\u00f6n remplace le tr\u00e9sor par un substitut afin de contenter le protecteur, et maintenir vivante la prosp\u00e9rit\u00e9 que la pr\u00e9sence du terma conf\u00e8re \u00e0 la r\u00e9gion.<\/p>\n

Car, que ce soit pour les termas de la terre ou de l\u2019esprit (tib. dgongs gter<\/em>), un protecteur veille, lui aussi mandat\u00e9 par Guru Rinpoch\u00e9, pour prot\u00e9ger le tr\u00e9sor et \u00e9viter que n\u2019importe qui (ou presque) puisse le red\u00e9couvrir. Ce protecteur, non humain, joue un r\u00f4le crucial dans la red\u00e9couverte des termas. Dans certaines occasions, il peut m\u00eame aller jusqu\u2019\u00e0 d\u00e9placer des tr\u00e9sors pour permettre leur red\u00e9couverte. On raconte ainsi que le 15\u00e8me Karmapa, un tert\u00f6n peu mobile \u00e0 cause de son statut et de ses obligations, d\u00e9couvrait parfois le matin sur son bureau un rouleau jaune d\u00e9pos\u00e9 par un protecteur durant la nuit.<\/p>\n

Bien qu\u2019il existe des listes proph\u00e9tiques des futurs tert\u00f6n, et des tr\u00e9sors qu\u2019ils vont red\u00e9couvrir, rien n\u2019est jamais jou\u00e9 : il arrive qu\u2019un tert\u00f6n pourtant annonc\u00e9 n\u2019active pas son potentiel. Ainsi, Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo n\u2019\u00e9tait qu\u2019en seconde position pour \u00eatre le cinqui\u00e8me roi tert\u00f6n. Un ou deux si\u00e8cles plus t\u00f4t, le premier de la liste, qui \u00e9tait moine, avait d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de le rester en ne prenant pas de consort – et ce malgr\u00e9 plusieurs visions de Padmasambhava qui lui recommandait de le faire, ainsi que son ma\u00eetre. Ce faisant, il ne d\u00e9couvrit jamais de terma.<\/p>\n

Mais le plus important dans le processus des termas, c\u2019est que lorsque le tert\u00f6n red\u00e9couvre un tr\u00e9sor, il le fait pour le bien de tous les \u00eatres, y compris lui-m\u00eame. L\u2019apparition du terma permet au tert\u00f6n de refaire imm\u00e9diatement le lien avec l\u2019\u00e9tat de la pratique que Padmasambhava lui avait transmise. Tout ce qui s\u2019est pass\u00e9 entre les deux \u00e9tats (toutes ses vies interm\u00e9diaires donc) s\u2019efface comme la ros\u00e9e du matin au soleil. [2]<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Si Guru Rinpoch\u00e9 a cach\u00e9 des termas, c\u2019est donc aussi pour rappeler \u00e0 ses disciples, dans toutes leurs existences futures, qu\u2019ils ne sont pas diff\u00e9rents de lui en essence. Et quiconque re\u00e7oit la b\u00e9n\u00e9diction d\u2019un terma peut \u00e9galement faire un avec l\u2019esprit de Padmasambhava.<\/p>\n

R\u00e9jouissons-nous alors qu\u2019il existe encore aujourd\u2019hui des cycles tr\u00e9sors transmis et pratiqu\u00e9s, et que des tert\u00f6n majeurs et mineurs, hommes et femmes, continuent d\u2019appara\u00eetre !<\/p>\n
