Pendant tr\u00e8s longtemps je ne connus rien d\u2019autre que l\u2019\u00eele sur laquelle je vivais. Mon monde se bornait aux ruelles \u00e9troites d\u2019un village blotti au centre des terres. Je n\u2019aimais rien tant que de parcourir encore et encore les m\u00eames sentiers de l\u2019arri\u00e8re-pays. Je connaissais si bien les autres insulaires\u00a0! Et je n\u2019avais aucun secret pour eux. Nous adorions nous r\u00e9unir pour raconter ces histoires qui nous ber\u00e7aient depuis l\u2019enfance et allaient nous accompagner pour toujours. Et les rondes\u00a0! Et les ritournelles\u00a0! Et l\u2019hydromel d\u00e9licieusement engourdissant\u00a0!<\/p>\n

Bien s\u00fbr, il y avait le port\u2026 Bien s\u00fbr, nous apercevions des voiliers croisant vers un horizon sans fin\u2026. Bien s\u00fbr, quand l\u2019oc\u00e9an \u00e9tait hors de vue, de fiers albatros en rappelaient la pr\u00e9sence. Mais tout cela \u00e9tait inqui\u00e9tant\u2026 d\u00e9rangeant\u2026 c\u2019\u00e9tait un peu trop<\/em>\u2026 C\u2019\u00e9tait porteur de d\u00e9sordre\u2026 voire de chaos\u2026 \u00c0 bien y r\u00e9fl\u00e9chir toute cette eau avait surtout l\u2019avantage de nous tenir \u00e9loign\u00e9es des autres \u00eeles\u00a0!<\/p>\n

Jusqu\u2019au jour o\u00f9 mon arri\u00e8re-grand-oncle – que j\u2019aimais tant – mourut. La disparition de ce membre honorable de la communaut\u00e9 \u2013 distillateur d\u2019hydromel devant l\u2019\u00e9ternel \u2013 ouvrait un gouffre dans mon joli petit monde. Rien ne semblait pouvoir le combler. Avec cela s\u2019insinuait l\u2019id\u00e9e que le confort de cette \u00eele \u00e9tait la plus incertaine des choses. Que moi-m\u00eame – comme tout ce qui est n\u00e9 – il me faudrait un jour mourir. C\u2019est en songeant \u00e0 cela que je cessais d\u2019\u00e9viter l\u2019oc\u00e9an. Bien au contraire, je plongeais mon regard dans le jeu hypnotique de ses vagues. Je le contemplais quand il se faisait miroir des flamboiements du soleil couchant ou du cercle parfait de la pleine lune. Ses scintillements m\u2019enseignaient que mon identit\u00e9 d\u2019\u00eelien \u00e9tait la plus \u00e9vanescente des choses. Ses profondeurs insondables m\u2019enseignaient que la ronde des naissances et des morts venait d\u2019un espace non n\u00e9 et incessant. Qui \u00e9tais-je\u00a0? Jean-Michel, Sh\u00e9h\u00e9razade, Sudhana ou Galadriel\u00a0? Quel sens avaient ces \u00e9tiquettes\u00a0? Pourquoi vouloir enfermer l\u2019oc\u00e9an dans une bouteille\u00a0?<\/p>\n

Puis un jour, je partis. Dans l\u2019incompr\u00e9hension de mes proches, je pris un simple cotre [1]<\/span><\/strong><\/a>\u00a0et je voguais vers le large – jadis tant redout\u00e9.<\/p>\n

D\u2019\u00eele en \u00eele mes navigations me firent d\u00e9couvrir d\u2019autres mondes\u00a0: des contr\u00e9es de tyrannies ou de merveilles, des paysages de feu, d\u2019or et de sang. Je vis d\u2019autres humains aux m\u0153urs si diff\u00e9rentes de celles dont j\u2019\u00e9tais coutumier. Je visitais des coll\u00e8ges de magie et des citadelles creus\u00e9es dans la roche. Je rencontrais aussi toutes sortes d\u2019animaux marins. Mon esquif croisait parfois des b\u00e9lougas ou de majestueuses tortues. Lors de mes escales, je d\u00e9couvris toutes sortes d\u2019esp\u00e8ces parfaitement inconnues de mon \u00eele natale\u00a0tels que des rhinoc\u00e9ros ou des licornes. Comment voit le monde\u00a0la chauve-souris malicieuse qui me survolait lors d\u2019une escale dans l\u2019archipel des vampires\u00a0? Vivons-nous tout \u00e0 fait dans la m\u00eame r\u00e9alit\u00e9\u00a0?<\/p>\n

Mes perceptions devinrent de plus en plus aig\u00fces. J\u2019en vins \u00e0 voir d\u2019autres \u00eatres, rarement reconnus par les humains.\u00a0Je croisais des rois-dragons, des esprits avides, des \u00eatres vivant les tortures de l\u2019enfer mais aussi des titans et m\u00eame des dieux. Et je vis qu\u2019ils ne cessaient de rena\u00eetre et de mourir. Ils devenaient \u2013par exemple – \u00a0rois, puis esclaves, puis centaures, puis lions et ainsi de suite. Ils changeaient sans cesse de condition sans rien comprendre du tourbillon dans lequel ils \u00e9taient pris. Ils vivaient – et moi avec – mille tourments dans cet oc\u00e9an de souffrance<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Aujourd\u2019hui, je viens d\u2019accoster sur une \u00eele o\u00f9 vit un \u00e9trange personnage. De petite taille, le teint un peu vert et les oreilles en pointe<\/a>. Il porte un curieux manteau et s\u2019appuie, l\u00e9g\u00e8rement courb\u00e9, sur une canne. Je me dirige vers lui. J\u2019ai comme l\u2019impression de l\u2019avoir cherch\u00e9 durant tout mon voyage oc\u00e9anique. En m\u00eame temps c\u2019est comme s\u2019il avait \u00e9t\u00e9 l\u00e0 depuis le d\u00e9but. \u00a0Il me semble parfaitement insaisissable et profond\u00e9ment chaleureux. Comme s\u2019il \u00e9tait tr\u00e8s proche et tr\u00e8s lointain \u00e0 la fois. Je lui parle. Qui est-il ? Il ne r\u00e9pond pas. Soit il ne me comprend pas, soit il ne veut pas me r\u00e9pondre. Un silence s\u2019installe. Il dure un instant ou une \u00e9ternit\u00e9. Qui es-tu ? Toujours pas un mot.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Maintenant, je ne ressens plus aucune h\u00e2te ou m\u00eame le moindre mouvement vers quoi que ce soit. Il me sourit. Il pointe son c\u0153ur puis le mien. Tout est l\u00e0, tout est accompli, tout est primordialement pur et parfait dans cet oc\u00e9an de vacuit\u00e9-luminosit\u00e9<\/em>.<\/p>\n

La nature primordiale et lumineuse de l\u2019esprit est la sagesse primordiale, spontan\u00e9e, vide et claire. Elle est vide par essence, semblable \u00e0 l\u2019espace\u00a0; son expression naturelle est lumineuse comme le soleil et la lune\u00a0; et l\u2019\u00e9clat de sa puissance de conna\u00eetre se manifeste de mani\u00e8re incessante, comme la surface immacul\u00e9e d\u2019un miroir transparent.<\/em> [2]<\/span><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Le c\u0153ur empli de gratitude je retourne vers mon \u00eele. Elle \u00e9tait juste \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9\u00a0! Apr\u00e8s \u00eatre parti si loin, je suis revenu tout proche de mon point de d\u00e9part\u00a0! Lorsque je d\u00e9barque je constate que rien n’a chang\u00e9. Et pourtant tout est diff\u00e9rent. L’hydromel continue de remplir les estomacs. Les rondes et les ritournelles continuent de tourner – tout comme les naissances et les morts. Mais tout ceci est le rayonnement de la nature de l’esprit. Il en \u00e9tait ainsi depuis le d\u00e9but mais il fallait un voyage oc\u00e9anique pour le r\u00e9v\u00e9ler.<\/p>\n
