Vivre dans une grande ville<\/h2>\n

Je me rappelle tr\u00e8s bien, il y a quelques ann\u00e9es, en revenant chez moi apr\u00e8s une courte retraite de 15 jours, m’\u00eatre pris Paris en pleine figure.<\/p>\n

Se mettre en retrait du monde pendant quelques jours, semaines, voire mois (et m\u00eame ann\u00e9es) est un proc\u00e9d\u00e9 g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement recommand\u00e9 dans la tradition du Dzogch\u00e8n. Pendant cette p\u00e9riode, la personne approfondit sa d\u00e9couverte et sa ma\u00eetrise des processus de fonctionnement de son esprit, sans que sa concentration ne soit d\u00e9rang\u00e9e ou interrompue.<\/p>\n

Mais passer du temps seul \u00e0 observer son esprit nous fait entrer dans des \u00e9tats d\u2019absorption qui s\u2019installent et deviennent la norme – c\u2019est justement le but. Alors, lorsque l\u2019on quitte le lieu de retraite et que l\u2019on revient dans la vie active, c\u2019est souvent un choc qui nous attend.<\/p>\n

Et c\u2019est ce qui m\u2019a saut\u00e9 aux yeux cette fin d\u2019\u00e9t\u00e9 quand je me suis retrouv\u00e9 dans les rues de la capitale fran\u00e7aise par 32\u00b0C un dimanche soir, au milieu d\u2019une foule bruissante, \u00e0 la recherche de mon repas du soir.<\/p>\n

Pouss\u00e9 par l\u2019envie de fuir, je me suis dit : \u201cComment peut-on suivre un chemin dans ces conditions ?\u201d Car certes il y a le bruit, la pollution et les enseignes lumineuses criardes. Mais il y a d\u2019abord et surtout l\u2019agitation mentale des gens que je croise, de mes voisins qui dorment litt\u00e9ralement \u00e0 3 m\u00e8tres de mon lit (au-dessus et en-dessous), de mes coll\u00e8gues qui arrivent au bureau surexcit\u00e9s \u00e0 cause de leur train bloqu\u00e9 une heure en plein milieu de voie.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u201cPlus nous avons l\u2019impression de voir des \u00eatres humains, plus cela renforce notre propre sentiment d\u2019\u00eatre un humain nous aussi, avec tout ce que cela implique (naissance, vieillesse et mort, mais aussi \u00e9motions, sensations, pens\u00e9es)\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

La reprise du quotidien, avec ses interactions multiples, ravive sans cesse \u00e0 ma conscience la souffrance de toutes ces personnes qui, comme moi, courent apr\u00e8s une illusion d\u2019existence. Ce qui s\u2019\u00e9tait apais\u00e9 pendant mon temps de retrait, se carbonise sous le soleil br\u00fblant de l\u2019agitation mentale.<\/p>\n

Et rien ne peut rationaliser cette exp\u00e9rience. Comment emp\u00eacher que la vie en communaut\u00e9 ne nous d\u00e9stabilise ? Comment faire pour que ces relations ne ravivent pas notre tendance \u00e0 saisir les mouvements de l\u2019esprit ? Comment percevoir la nature illusoire de tous les ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes quand nos semblables nous montrent le contraire ?<\/p>\n

Du point de vue ultime de la Grande Perfection, il n\u2019y a pas d\u2019\u00eatre existant en soi, pas de facteurs mentaux pertubateurs, pas d\u2019\u00e9tats m\u00e9ditatifs qui ne soient pas l\u2019\u00e9tat naturel de l\u2019\u00e9vidence primordiale (rigpa). Il y a \u201cjuste\u201d la manifestation multiple d\u2019une m\u00eame nature.<\/p>\n

Commencer \u00e0 r\u00e9aliser cela, c\u2019est commencer \u00e0 percevoir tous les \u00eatres comme le jeu naturel de notre propre esprit. Que l\u2019on se trouve dans une foule ou tout seul, que l\u2019on vive dans un appartement de 20 m2 dans une grande ville ou dans une maison \u00e0 la campagne – tout est un jeu illusoire.\u00a0<\/p>\n

La diff\u00e9rence entre les deux est simplement la fa\u00e7on de percevoir les apparences.<\/p>\n

Soit notre regard est tourn\u00e9 vers l\u2019ext\u00e9rieur : nous percevons alors non pas la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 pour ce qu\u2019elle est r\u00e9ellement (vide et lumineuse), mais nous \u201cvoyons\u201d un concept d\u2019\u00eatre humain, c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire une image mentale virtuelle, qui n\u2019est autre qu\u2019une information globale provenant de perceptions distinctes agr\u00e9g\u00e9es entre elles.<\/p>\n

Et plus nous avons l\u2019impression de voir des \u00eatres humains, plus cela renforce notre propre sentiment d\u2019\u00eatre un humain nous aussi, avec tout ce que cela implique (naissance, vieillesse et mort, mais aussi \u00e9motions, sensations, pens\u00e9es).<\/p>\n

Mais si notre regard est tourn\u00e9 vers l\u2019int\u00e9rieur, \u00e0 l\u2019origine des perceptions (gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 l\u2019entrainement initi\u00e9 pendant les retraites), le monde apparait \u00e0 la fois beaucoup plus simple et plus riche, car nous continuons \u00e0 percevoir des manifestations aux caract\u00e9ristiques distinctes (sons, couleurs, formes, pens\u00e9es elles-m\u00eames\u2026) sans les amalgamer. Et en m\u00eame temps, l\u2019origine de toutes ces manifestations appara\u00eet \u00e9galement dans la vision, sans pour autant qu\u2019elle puisse \u00eatre conceptualis\u00e9e comme quelque chose. C\u2019est l\u2019aspect de vacuit\u00e9 de la r\u00e9alit\u00e9, qui n\u2019est autre que la nature fondamentale des manifestations.<\/p>\n

Lorsque cette vision est pr\u00e9sente, la multitude d\u2019humains pr\u00e9sente dans les grandes villes n\u2019est plus un rappel de nos habitudes r\u00e9currentes \u00e0 percevoir la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 comme existante. Tout au contraire, elle devient un rappel incessant de notre nature primordiale.<\/p>\n

Habiter au coeur d\u2019une m\u00e9tropole n\u2019est d\u00e8s lors plus une condition difficile pour le chemin du Dzogch\u00e8n (si tant est que cela ne l\u2019ait jamais \u00e9t\u00e9).<\/p>\n
