The \u2018rediscovered\u2019 teachings (gter ma<\/em>) of Rigdzin G\u00f6demch\u00e8n initiated the tradition known as the \u2018Treasures of the North\u2019 (byang gter<\/em>), to be distinguished from that of the Treasures of the South (lho gter<\/em>), tradition initiated by Nyangr\u00e4l Nyima \u00d6zer<\/a> (myang ral nyi ma \u2018od zer, 1124-1192) and Guru Ch\u00f6wang<\/a> (gu ru chos dbang, 1212-1270).<\/p>\n The All-Excellent\u2019s Mighty Path of Aspiration (Samantabhadra, kun tu bzang po) is regularly recited in many assemblies in Tibet, particularly on auspicious days, especially the tenth, Padmasambhava’s day.<\/p>\n These texts require transmission from a qualified teacher before they can be studied and put into practice. The result is the development of the passions and the five poisons,<\/p>\n Whose activity never ceases.<\/p>\n That is why it is the basis of delusion for ordinary beings.<\/p>\n Since they have no awareness of their ignorance,<\/p>\n Through my aspiration of perfect Enlightenment,<\/p>\n May all naturally know the primordial evidence!<\/p>\n Innate ignorance<\/p>\n Is an absence of awareness, a distraction.<\/p>\n Defining ignorance<\/p>\n Is grasping that distinguishes between oneself and others.<\/p>\n The two ignorances, innate and defining,<\/p>\n Are the basis of illusion for all dualistic grasping<\/p>\n And immediately know its nature, the primordial evidence!<\/p>\n The dualistic mind doubts,<\/p>\n And from the subtle attachment that arises,<\/p>\n This tendency gradually takes shape<\/p>\n In food, money, clothes, places to live, friends,<\/p>\n Five sense pleasures, loved ones, etc.<\/p>\n Attached to the enjoyable, they are tormented by these desires<\/p>\n Which are the illusion of the world<\/p>\n And the activity of a subject who grasps objects is never exhausted.<\/p>\n When the fruit of their attachment ripens,<\/p>\n They are reborn as hungry ghosts tormented by lack<\/p>\n And their hunger and thirst are terrible!<\/p>\n Thanks to my path of aspiration as a perfectly enlightened being,<\/p>\n May all beings who are attached to desire,<\/p>\n Without outwardly rejecting the desire that torments them,<\/p>\n Without inwardly accepting the attachment to desire,<\/p>\n Release their mind into natural newness,<\/p>\n Regain the newness of Immediately know the primordial evidence, that is naturally present,
And reach the summit of the great primordial knowledge!
Without interruption, my manifestations,
Inconceivable, multiply by myriads
Teaching beings according to the diversity of their needs.<\/p>\n
They have no awareness of it, not even the most obscure one.<\/p>\n
And they sink into a state of blind stupor,<\/p>\n
As this tendency gradually increases,
People fall into a state of cyclic wandering.<\/p>\n
