This radical Dzogchen text belongs to the category of teachings known as the \u201cmind series\u201d (in Tibetan, semd\u00e9). It is cited in the various lists of the \u201cEighteen Translations of the Semd\u00e9\u201d, with the exception of the list by Nyangrel Nyima \u00d6zer (12th c.).<\/p>\n

Along with “The Pure and Perfect Spirit”, “Light of the Three Dimensions of Existence”, The Sublime Monarch<\/a> and the “All-Encompassing One”, this texte is one of the \u201cfour [so-called] minor teachings\u201d that were taught by Shri Singha to Bairotsana immediately after the transmission of the \u201cfive ancient translations\u201d.<\/p>\n

Delivering them in total freedom: ha!<\/p>\n

Those who do not recognize it<\/p>\n

Pursue empty words.<\/p>\n

Still grasping the partiality of good and evil,<\/p>\n

Thus they wander in aimless blindness: ha!<\/p>\n

There is no sun more immaculate than it,<\/p>\n

No darkness darker than it,<\/p>\n

In its luminous sphere of peace<\/p>\n

As it is the bliss of the luminous sphere of the three times<\/p>\n

It neither benefits nor harms anyone.<\/p>\n

As a totally pure quintessence,<\/p>\n

It is obviously spontaneously accomplished: ha!<\/p>\n

Not appearing, it is without variation,<\/p>\n

As it is beyond methods and higher knowledge,<\/p>\n

It has no path, it has no enlightenment,<\/p>\n

It rises as the quintessence of non-existence: ha!<\/p>\n

Therefore, integrate the enlightened presence that teaches<\/p>\n

For the benefit of fortunate beings to come.<\/p>\n

Being assured of its reality,<\/p>\n

All that you experience is born without concept.<\/p>\n

This authentic and certain teaching,<\/p>\n

You who wish to liberate yourself in the midst of natural evidence,<\/p>\n

Keep it in the depths of your mind.<\/p>\n

So don’t spread it to just anyone.<\/p>\n
