Chats et singes<\/h2>\n

Dans un passage de sa biographie de Jamyang Khy\u00e8nts\u00e9 Wangpo<\/a>, Jamg\u00f6n Kongtrul compare les pratiquants spirituels \u00e0 des singes et des chats.<\/p>\n

C\u2019est \u00e0 la fin d\u2019un passage qui cible notre tendance trop humaine \u00e0 blablater de fa\u00e7on n\u00e9gative sur nos semblables. Nous avons toujours quelque chose \u00e0 dire, une petite critique \u00e0 trouver : c\u2019est une fa\u00e7on d\u2019exercer notre col\u00e8re-aversion en utilisant la parole. Au passage, on oublie tous nos travers personnels, on excuse nos d\u00e9fauts et, pleins de complaisance, on se centre sur l\u2019autre qui, lui, a une poussi\u00e8re dans l\u2019oeil quand nous y avons une poutre.<\/p>\n

Donc, dans notre pratique spirituelle \u2014\u00a0 qui se confond avec notre vie de tous les jours \u2014 nous oscillons entre l\u2019attitude \u00ab\u00a0singe\u00a0\u00bb et l\u2019attitude \u00ab\u00a0chat\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n

Notre singe int\u00e9rieur est celui qui, plein d\u2019ignorance et de confusion, imite sans cesse son semblable. Nous sommes les miroirs les uns des autres, et sans savoir ce qu\u2019il faut faire exactement \u2014 c\u2019est notre absence de clart\u00e9 \u2014 nous nous contentons, rassur\u00e9s, d\u2019imiter<\/em>. Ce \u00ab\u00a0faire-pareil\u00a0\u00bb n\u2019a rien de profond car il n\u2019est centr\u00e9 ni sur une compr\u00e9hension n\u00e9e de la r\u00e9flexion-digestion des enseignements, ni sur l\u2019exp\u00e9rience directe n\u00e9e des pratiques de concentration. C\u2019est un \u00ab\u00a0faire-pareil\u00a0\u00bb simiesque puisqu\u2019il s\u2019appuie sur les conventions ext\u00e9rieures, sur \u00ab\u00a0ce qui se fait\u00a0\u00bb, sur \u00ab\u00a0tout le monde fait comme \u00e7a\u00a0\u00bb, etc. Il ne m\u00e8ne nulle part sur un chemin spirituel puisqu\u2019il ne conduit qu\u2019\u00e0 figer la pratique dans des conventions mort-n\u00e9es, dans des formes culturelles qui sont des ersatz de lib\u00e9ration. Nous l\u2019avions \u00e9voqu\u00e9 dans l\u2019espace de libert\u00e9 et la triple exigence<\/a>. L\u2019espace du singe est un espace o\u00f9 l\u2019on ne sait pas pourquoi l\u2019on fait ce que l\u2019on fait.<\/p>\n

Notre chat int\u00e9rieur, lui, est celui qui fait semblant de n\u2019avoir besoin de rien (merci \u00e0 Matthew Akester<\/a> pour l\u2019explication, qu\u2019il a recueillie aupr\u00e8s d\u2019un lama du Kham). Oui, vous savez, c\u2019est bien le style des chats. Ils sont l\u00e0, sur le rebord de la fen\u00eatre, un peu indiff\u00e9rents, un peu d\u00e9j\u00e0 en-dehors de la maison mais quand m\u00eame toujours dedans \u2014 entre deux mondes, pas vraiment concern\u00e9s. Leur attitude montre qu\u2019ils n\u2019ont pas besoin de vous, qu\u2019ils sont autonomes, qu\u2019ils peuvent se d\u00e9brouiller tout seuls. Mais rien n\u2019est moins vrai. Eux aussi sont en recherche d\u2019amour, de caresses, de nourriture terrestre et c\u00e9leste. De m\u00eame, nous rencontrons aussi souvent en nous ce pratiquant \u00ab\u00a0chat\u00a0\u00bb qui croit n\u2019avoir besoin de rien, qui se passe de tout conseil, qui croit avoir tout compris, qui trace sa route, qui n\u2019a dieu ni ma\u00eetre, qui a dig\u00e9r\u00e9 la sagesse du monde, qui n\u2019a besoin d\u2019aucun guide, d\u2019aucun site sacr\u00e9, d\u2019aucun rituel, d\u2019aucune tradition. Il pratique une \u00ab\u00a0autonomie\u00a0\u00bb qui a l\u2019\u00e9go pour ma\u00eetre, l\u2019erreur comme chemin et la d\u00e9ception comme r\u00e9sultat. L\u2019espace du chat est un espace o\u00f9 l\u2019on est persuad\u00e9 de tr\u00e8s bien savoir ce que l\u2019on fait.<\/p>\n

Bien souvent j\u2019ai entendu Mila Khyentse dire qu\u2019il ne fallait pas nous leurrer nous-m\u00eames, qu\u2019il fallait, sans cesse, continuer d\u2019interroger notre pratique, et ne jamais faire du rem\u00e8de un poison. Ces temps-ci j\u2019ai bien l\u2019impression que la pratique de la Grande Perfection fait d\u2019abord aller de d\u00e9sillusion en d\u00e9sillusion ; mais que c\u2019est en pelant ses couches d\u2019oignon qu\u2019on peut retrouver la v\u00e9rit\u00e9 vide et vive. Et que, dans cette vivacit\u00e9 vide, l\u2019espace de confusion du singe et du chat est transform\u00e9 en chemin de lib\u00e9ration.<\/a><\/p>\n

C\u2019est pourquoi il est n\u00e9cessaire de remplacer notre attitude de macaque et de f\u00e9lin ordinaires, par les attitudes non-ordinaires du singe et du chat de la Grande Perfection.<\/p>\n

Le singe de la Grande Perfection a pour proverbe \u00ab\u00a0fake it until you make it\u00a0\u00bb. Se concentrant sans cesse sur la clart\u00e9-luminosit\u00e9, il y aspire de toutes ses forces ; sa d\u00e9votion est grande, son enthousiasme est sans faille ; il imite tout ce qu\u2019il peut apprendre avec grande joie ; petit \u00e0 petit, il devient plus sage. Il arpente le chemin graduel de l\u2019apprentissage progressif et va sans cesse de l\u2019avant, de pirouette en pirouette. Tous les enseignements sont pour lui une nouvelle branche d\u2019arbre o\u00f9 se balancer, il prend les exercices pour des jeux, et son savoir grandit. Un jour, il ne feint plus. \u00c7a y est. Il n\u2019y a plus un ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne qui ne soit Grande Perfection. La for\u00eat s\u2019ouvre \u00e0 lui.<\/p>\n
