La femme et le vampire<\/h2>\n

Il y a longtemps, mais pas si longtemps que cela, vivait un couple \u00e0 proximit\u00e9 du monast\u00e8re dans lequel vivait mon ma\u00eetre Dzogch\u00e8n, Lobsang Dargy\u00e9 Gyamtso Rinpoch\u00e9, alors jeune novice.<\/p>\n

Ce couple \u00e9tait comme beaucoup de couples tib\u00e9tains \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9poque\u00a0: besogneux, industrieux et bons commer\u00e7ants. Le mari conduisait r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement sa caravane de l\u2019Est du Tibet, en Amdo, vers les plaines chinoises du Sichuan et du Yunnan pour acheter du th\u00e9 et vendre du sel ou du minerai, principalement. Il partait souvent pour des mois de voyage et revenait les yacks lourdement charg\u00e9s. Puis il repartait, quelques mois plus tard.<\/p>\n

Un jour, laissant \u00e0 sa femme la gestion de leur boutique, comme il \u00e9tait ainsi de coutume, il devait cette fois-ci repartir pour deux mois. Nous \u00e9tions au d\u00e9but du mois de mars et il devait donc revenir vers le d\u00e9but du mois de mai.<\/p>\n

La femme, durant ces deux mois, s\u2019acquitta de sa tache excellement bien, comme toujours. La journ\u00e9e, elle vendait ou \u00e9changeait les produits et le soir, elle rapi\u00e9\u00e7ait, rafistolait les v\u00eatements du couple ou en cousait de nouveau, en compagnie de sa famille ou d\u2019amies de passage.<\/p>\n

Comprenant que ce qu\u2019elle avait pris pour son mari, n\u2019\u00e9tait pas vraiment lui, la femme se figea sur place\u2026 Elle mourut trois jours apr\u00e8s.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Un jour du d\u00e9but du mois de mai, la porte s\u2019ouvrit avec fracas \u00e0 la tomb\u00e9e de la nuit, peut-\u00eatre pouss\u00e9e par une bourrasque de vent, pensa la femme. Quelle ne fut pas sa surprise et sa joie lorsqu\u2019elle vit son mari entrer aussit\u00f4t la porte ouverte\u00a0! \u00c7a y est, il \u00e9tait enfin rentr\u00e9 de voyage\u00a0! Ils tomb\u00e8rent dans les bras l\u2019un de l\u2019autre, et elle ne p\u00fbt s\u2019emp\u00eacher de noter \u00e0 quel point il avait maigri et comme son teint \u00e9tait devenu \u00e9maci\u00e9. Cela doit \u00eatre la fatigue et les \u00e9preuves de la marche et du voyage, se dit-elle.<\/p>\n

Elle lui posa d\u2019embl\u00e9e beaucoup de questions\u00a0: avait-il suffisamment mang\u00e9\u00a0? S\u2019\u00e9tait-il suffisamment repos\u00e9 pendant les haltes\u00a0? Avait-il fait de bons profits en ville\u00a0? Son mari souriait mais ne pipait mot. Il montra sa gorge comme s\u2019il ne pouvait pas parler. Peut-\u00eatre un coup de froid\u00a0?<\/p>\n

Elle lui intima alors gentiment l\u2019ordre de s\u2019asseoir le temps qu\u2019elle pr\u00e9pare une bonne thoukpa, une soupe de p\u00e2tes, bien revigorante. Ils mang\u00e8rent en silence tout en se souriant, la femme ponctuant simplement le repas de petites phrases anodines.<\/p>\n

Puis, ils all\u00e8rent se coucher et la d\u00e9cence m\u2019interdit de parler de ce qui s\u2019ensuivit, m\u00eame si l\u2019histoire que j\u2019ai entendue de la bouche de mon ma\u00eetre ne mentionnait non plus rien de cela, \u00e0 part peut-\u00eatre quelques rires\u2026<\/p>\n

Au matin, le lit \u00e9tait vide du c\u00f4t\u00e9 du mari. La femme, inqui\u00e8te, se leva, s\u2019habilla \u00e0 la h\u00e2te et partit en courant en direction de l\u2019entrep\u00f4t de son mari, o\u00f9 \u00e9taient ses b\u00eates et ses marchandises, pensant le trouver logiquement l\u00e0-bas. Personne n\u2019\u00e9tait arriv\u00e9, il \u00e9tait encore trop t\u00f4t, et pas la moindre trace de son mari.<\/p>\n

Puis, P\u00e8npa, un des employ\u00e9s charg\u00e9s de nourrir les yacks, arriva. Elle nota de suite qu\u2019il devint livide lorsqu\u2019il la vit. Elle lui demanda s\u2019il avait vu son patron, mais tout ce qu\u2019elle obtint comme r\u00e9ponse fut\u00a0: \u00ab\u00a0d\u00e9sol\u00e9, d\u00e9sol\u00e9, nous aurions d\u00fb venir plus t\u00f4t\u00a0! D\u00e9sol\u00e9\u00a0! Mais nous ne voulions pas vous d\u00e9ranger hier soir…\u00a0\u00bb. Pourquoi \u00e9tait-il d\u00e9sol\u00e9\u00a0? Elle se demandait juste o\u00f9 son mari \u00e9tait pass\u00e9 car il avait quitt\u00e9 la maison tr\u00e8s t\u00f4t ce matin apr\u00e8s \u00eatre rentr\u00e9 la veille au soir et elle ne comprenait pas pourquoi il avait disparu \u00e0 cette heure-l\u00e0. P\u00e8npa bl\u00eamit encore plus. Il finit par dire\u00a0: \u00ab\u00a0Madame, votre mari a fait une chute mortelle dans les montagnes lors de notre retour il y a de cela plus d\u2019une semaine\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n

Le monde tib\u00e9tain regorge d\u2019histoires terrifiantes comme celles-ci. Des histoires \u00e0 faire peur que l\u2019on raconte le soir \u00e0 la veill\u00e9e.<\/p>\n

Cette histoire, mon ma\u00eetre me la raconta un soir alors que l\u2019on abordait la transmission de la pratique qui \u00ab\u00a0dompte les huit classes d\u2019\u00eatres malfaisants\u00a0\u00bb. Pour lui, la mort violente du mari de cette femme, que mon ma\u00eetre avait tous deux connus, avait permis \u00e0 un d\u00e9mon, une sorte de vampire, de prendre la force de vie de la veuve qui s\u2019ignorait. C\u2019est en tous les cas ce qui s\u2019\u00e9tait racont\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9poque, puisqu\u2019elle ne s\u2019\u00e9tait pas donn\u00e9 la mort.<\/p>\n

Attention donc \u00e0 qui l\u2019on fait entrer chez soi lorsqu\u2019une bourrasque de vent ouvre notre porte, surtout \u00e0 la tomb\u00e9e de la nuit\u00a0!<\/p>\n
