Connaissez-vous l\u2019histoire de l\u2019homme qui pointe du doigt la lune\u00a0? Le proverbe dit que si le sage regarde la lune, l\u2019imb\u00e9cile, lui, regarde le doigt\u2026<\/p>\n

Garab Dorje, le premier ma\u00eetre humain du Dzogch\u00e8n, selon la tradition Nyingmapa<\/a>,<\/em> est repr\u00e9sent\u00e9 assis, le doigt point\u00e9 droit devant lui. Si nous savons maintenant qu\u2019il ne s\u2019agit pas de regarder son doigt, la question demeure\u00a0: que pointe-t-il\u00a0?<\/p>\n

L\u2019instruction du “point\u00e9 du doigt”<\/h2>\n

Imaginons-nous face \u00e0 la repr\u00e9sentation de Garab Dorje et observons-la, ensemble, un instant : Garab Dorje a la t\u00eate l\u00e9g\u00e8rement pench\u00e9e sur le c\u00f4t\u00e9. Son visage arbore une expression pleine de compassion. De son corps \u00e9mane un \u00e9clat lumineux. En posture assise, sa jambe droite avanc\u00e9e un peu en avant, il semble reposer dans la d\u00e9tente. Et au niveau de son torse, sa main droite pointe son doigt, droit devant lui\u2026 Alors que nous fixons l\u2019image, nous avons l\u2019impression, en ce moment m\u00eame, que Garab Dorje pointe son doigt dans notre direction, droit sur nous, n\u2019est-ce pas\u00a0? Nous pourrions m\u00eame dire qu\u2019il pointe notre c\u0153ur\u2026 Mais est-ce vraiment le cas\u00a0?<\/p>\n

Pour vraiment voir ce que pointe Garab Dorje, il faudrait en r\u00e9alit\u00e9 se mettre \u00e0 sa place, changer de point de vue\u2026 Et c\u2019est pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment \u00e0 cela que nous invite Garab Dorje\u00a0: \u00e0 nous retourner, pour observer, comme dans un miroir, notre propre visage. Il nous invite \u00e0 nous retourner, et nous retourner encore\u2026 pour finalement parvenir \u00e0 regarder par ses yeux, \u00e0 sentir par son c\u0153ur, \u00e0 ne faire qu\u2019un avec son esprit.<\/p>\n

La repr\u00e9sentation de Garab Dorje pointant son doigt droit devant lui est, en fait, bien plus qu\u2019une image. C\u2019est une instruction, sans parole\u00a0: une introduction directe \u00e0 la nature de notre esprit, \u00e0 la fois symbolique et effective. Car quand Garab Dorje pointe notre c\u0153ur, c\u2019est le c\u0153ur de la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 qu\u2019il pointe, son essence, vide et lumineuse. Et dans le miroir qu\u2019il nous tend, c\u2019est le visage de Rigpa, la nature de l\u2019esprit qui se reconna\u00eet elle-m\u00eame,<\/em> qu\u2019il nous offre \u00e0 contempler. Dans la tradition, on parle de \u2018lib\u00e9ration par la vue<\/em>\u2019, Tongdrol<\/em>, comme une des cinq formes de lib\u00e9ration par le contact,<\/em>correspondant aux cinq sens, dont, aussi, le toucher, le go\u00fbt ou l\u2019ou\u00efe\u2026<\/p>\n

Son esprit, notre esprit<\/h2>\n

Par son geste, Garab Dorje nous montre o\u00f9<\/em> regarder. Il nous montre la base de notre esprit, pr\u00e9sente depuis l\u2019origine. En contemplant l\u2019image de Garab Dorje, nous contemplons notre propre visage et nous r\u00e9alisons qu\u2019il n\u2019y a ni sujet qui regarde, ni objet qui est regard\u00e9, que la dualit\u00e9 n\u2019est qu\u2019illusion.<\/p>\n

Comme il est \u00e9crit dans le magnifique texte de “L\u2019instruction du point\u00e9 de b\u00e2ton<\/em>\u2019, de Padmasambhava, un grand ma\u00eetre dzogch\u00e8n et bouddhiste, du 8\u00e8me si\u00e8cle\u00a0:<\/p>\n

\u00ab\u00a0 La vue de la Grande Perfection se trouve en toi,<\/p>\n

Alors, sois absolument sans doute \u00e0 son propos et ne cherche nulle part ailleurs.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n
