La traduction de textes tib\u00e9tains en fran\u00e7ais est une application directe de la mission de <\/span>Dzogchen Today!. C’est un exemple caract\u00e9ristique de l’adaptation n\u00e9cessaire de la tradition aux conditions actuelles. Il faut des textes qui nous parle, \u00e0 nous, aujourd’hui, et directement. A cette fin, il nous faudra jouer avec les biais culturels, parfois difficiles \u00e0 percer, et les \u00e9poques, parfois \u00e9loign\u00e9es de nous. Des traductions simples, directes, les plus naturelles possibles. Faire passer le c\u0153ur, l’essence de la tradition \u2014 voil\u00e0 ce que le comit\u00e9 de traduction Dzogchen Today! <\/span>devra accomplir.<\/p>\n

L’adaptation, pour ne pas dire l’alt\u00e9ration, que constitue toute traduction est in\u00e9vitable lors du passage d’une langue \u00e0 l’autre, d’une culture \u00e0 l’autre, d’un r\u00e9ceptacle (une langue)<\/span> \u00e0 l’autre. La forme, le \u00ab contenant\u00a0\u00bb change, mais pas le c\u0153ur, l’essence de la transmission qu’est la nature de l’esprit elle-m\u00eame, le \u00ab\u00a0contenu\u00a0\u00bb (qui, en fait n’est pas contenu parce qu’il n’est pas quelque chose en soi, mais c’est un autre sujet que vous trouverez trait\u00e9 dans la cat\u00e9gorie nature de l’esprit<\/a>). La tradition Dzogch\u00e8n a l’habitude de l’appeler rigpa<\/span><\/em>.<\/p>\n

Comment faire\u00a0 ?<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n

Il s’agit donc de traduire comme on marcherait sur une mince ligne de cr\u00eate, avec d\u00e9licatesse et assurance, entre deux \u00e9cueils \u00e0 \u00e9viter\u00a0: d’un c\u00f4t\u00e9 le ravin de la conservation st\u00e9rile du pass\u00e9, une sorte de mus\u00e9ification poussi\u00e9reuse\u00a0; et d’un autre, le gouffre des innovations cr\u00e9atives au go\u00fbt du jour mais \u00e9loign\u00e9es de toute exp\u00e9rience directe, le c\u0153ur de la tradition.<\/p>\n

La traduction c’est comme lancer une fl\u00e8che du pass\u00e9 vers l’avenir. Ou comme verser de l’eau d’un contenant \u00e0 l’autre\u00a0: entre fid\u00e9lit\u00e9 \u00e0 un h\u00e9ritage \u00e0 pr\u00e9server et adaptation aux conditions du monde moderne. Mais la fl\u00e8che doit \u00eatre ramass\u00e9e et relanc\u00e9e, comme l’eau doit \u00eatre \u00e0 nouveau remu\u00e9e, pour que, dans les deux cas, elles demeurent \u00ab vivantes \u00bb et poursuivent leur chemin. Comme il n’y a pas d’homog\u00e9n\u00e9it\u00e9 dans les traductions actuelles du tib\u00e9tain vers le fran\u00e7ais, il est possible de continuer \u00e0 exp\u00e9rimenter pour d\u00e9couvrir ce qui fonctionne le mieux. Certaines traductions largement r\u00e9pandues devront peut-\u00eatre \u00eatre r\u00e9vis\u00e9es. De nouveaux termes seront propos\u00e9s. Les lectrices et les pratiquants seront nos seuls juges\u00a0!<\/p>\n

Le passage d’une tradition d’une aire culturelle \u00e0 une autre prend toujours du temps, beaucoup de temps. C’est n’est pas \u00e0 l’\u00e9chelle d’une vie humaine qu’il faut penser. 500 ans semble raisonnable. Exp\u00e9riences directes<\/strong><\/h4>\n

L’essentiel dans ces traductions sera donc de garder le c\u0153ur, de faire passer le sens, et de rendre ainsi possible les exp\u00e9riences correspondantes. Car un texte sans exp\u00e9rience reste lettre morte. Traditionnellement, la plupart des textes \u00e9taient des aides-m\u00e9moire. Les notes \u00e9crites d’une transmission orale.<\/p>\n

La transmission du sens – l’enseignement de la tradition – est faites pour offrir les bonnes conditions pour sa r\u00e9alisation par les exp\u00e9riences personnelles des pratiquants\u00a0; r\u00e9alisation toujours intime et singuli\u00e8re. La seule \u00e9coute, la lecture ou la r\u00e9citation de tels textes peut donner \u00e0 go\u00fbter un aper\u00e7u de l\u2019exp\u00e9rience ultime qu’il transmet.<\/p>\n

Ne nous accrochons donc pas au sens litt\u00e9ral par fid\u00e9lit\u00e9 mal plac\u00e9e. Un texte dzogch\u00e8n n’est pas un mus\u00e9e, ni une idyllique r\u00e9serve naturelle \u00e0 prot\u00e9ger.
